These galleries let you take a selfie to find the photos you appear in: SelfSearch AI matches it against the gallery, then the selfie is discarded. Here is exactly what happens with it. The galleries run on SLP Media, a brand of Samuel Long Productions LLC, which hosts them on each studio's behalf and uses nothing here for anything else.
The selfie is resized in memory and sent once to Amazon Rekognition, which compares it with the faces in that gallery. The selfie itself is not saved to disk, cloud storage, or logs, and it is gone as soon as the match returns. What your phone keeps is a small cookie listing the photo ids that matched, so you can come back within a week without another selfie. It holds no image and no face data, and "Not you? Try again" clears it.
When a gallery is uploaded, Rekognition records a numeric face signature for each face in its photos, whether or not that person ever takes a selfie, so selfies can be matched against it. Those signatures are stored with Amazon in a collection that belongs only to that gallery. They are deleted, along with the photos, when the gallery is deleted, or 30 days after its close date if it has one; a gallery with no close date keeps them until it is deleted.
We keep counts of searches and downloads per gallery (how many, how long they took) so we know the feature works. Searches are also counted per phone for a few minutes, using a random id in a cookie, so one busy venue network is not mistaken for one person trying over and over. Nothing in those counts identifies you.
Some galleries ask for your name and email the first time you save or download a photo. Browsing never needs it. Each save is then recorded against that email (which photos, and when) so the studio knows who has their photos from an event, which is how they follow up with clients. The record stays with the gallery until the gallery is deleted or you ask for it to go; it is not sold or shared, and SLP Media does not use it. The phone that answered keeps a signed cookie for six months so it is not asked again. To be removed, use the address below and name the gallery: the email and name are deleted and your saves stay as an anonymous count.
At some events a sign shows a QR code that opens a sign-up sheet before the photos are ready. The name and email you leave there are used for exactly one message: the link to the gallery when it goes live. The sheet is kept with the gallery, is not sold or shared, and goes when the gallery is deleted. That message carries a link that removes your email on the spot, and the phone you signed up on remembers it for a month so the sign does not ask twice.
The photos, the face signatures and the matching are with Amazon Web Services in the United States (storage, delivery and Rekognition). The site is hosted by Vercel, the database by Supabase, and email goes out through Resend.
The form on slpmedia.pro keeps the email you enter, the page you signed up on and your browser type, and sends the email to us through Web3Forms. It is used only to write to you about SLP Media, and it is not sold or shared. To come off the list, write to hello@slpmedia.pro.
